Gretchen Schrafft is a fiction writer, freelance journalist, and educator based in Seattle. Her fiction has appeared in Carve, Joyland, Hobart, and Midway Journal. Her reportage and reviews have appeared in San Francisco, The Huffington Post, The Rumpus, The Bold Italic, and Oregon Stater. She has been awarded a residency by the Vermont Studio Center, fellowships by the San Francisco Writers' Grotto, Hawthornden Literary Retreat, and The Mineral School, and scholarships by the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the Fine Arts Work Center, and the Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers. She currently teaches creative writing and composition courses at Seattle University and Highline Community College.
